Mortgage Processing Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Mortgage Processing Manager to join their growing company. The Processing Manager will be responsible for supervising and managing the processing department and staff; the mortgage loan processing function; monitor and maintain compliance with all applicable guidelines, policies and procedures and ensures internal and external customer service expectations are delivered.

*Please note, this is an in-office position. Must be commutable to the office, remote work is not offered for this opportunity*
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and ensure timely processing and completion of all mortgage loan files by directing the work of the mortgage processing team
  • Provide all necessary compliance and procedural training and coaching to processors, including proactive and timely follow up with internal and external customers to ensure excellent customer service and quality processing
  • Coordinate development, interpretation, and implementation of processing procedures for new and existing loan programs and program changes; recommends to management ways to improve and streamline the processing function and maintains awareness of new trends and development
  • Pipeline management oversight
  • Thorough working knowledge of secondary market guidelines including FNMA, FHLMC, VA, HUD, USDA and Private Investor loans
  • Must be proficient in AUS software, i.e. DU and LP
  • Thorough understanding of RESPA, TRID and ECOA regulations
  • Monitors accuracy of the data input, production timelines and delivery of the product
  • Conduct interviews and hiring, employee training, planning, assigning, directing work, performance reviews and timecards
  • Utilize management reports to monitor staff performance
  • Assist processing team with product questions, concerns and escalated customer issues
  • Monitor regulatory changes and updates and keep staff informed
  • Recognize and relay irregularities and concerns to the appropriate senior management
  • Ensure high quality customer service internally and externally
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Skills, and Experience Required:
  • 5 years recent frontline mortgage processing experience
  • 2 years of processing management experience
  • Successful NMLS Registration required
  • Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA and VA
  • Experience with Desktop Underwriter/Originator and Loan Prospector
  • Knowledge of mortgage operations, organization and staff
  • Strong pipeline management skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • MS Office proficiency required
  • Highly organized/strong attention to detail
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic, fast paced working environment
  • Ability to plan, organize and schedule own work
  • Strong problem solving skills, including the ability to identify and resolve exceptions
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
