Our client is seeking an experienced Mortgage Servicing Coordinator to join their growing company. Under the direction of Mortgage Servicing Management, coordinates and oversees the day-to-day activities of the Mortgage Servicing Department. Responsible for the most complex and escalated mortgage servicing issues. Serves as primary support to Manager, Mortgage Servicing related to key servicing responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare interim servicing borrower payment invoices using our accounting software.
  • Reconcile, collect and record monthly borrower payments to our origination software and accounting software.
  • Ensure timely collection of borrower payments; make collection calls, written requests, and work with legal counsel when needed to ensure borrower payments are collected.
  • Reconcile and remit upfront and monthly borrower payments for mortgage insurance, real estate taxes, and homeowners insurance.
  • Ensure calculation of monthly adjustable rate mortgage principal and interest are correct.
  • Monthly review and reconciliation of custodial cash accounts held for Fannie Mae, Ginnie Mae, Freddic Mac accounts.
  • Monthly review and reconciliation of cash flows and borrower payments paid to sub-servicer.
  • Monthly review and reconciliation of sub-servicer disbursements for P&I and Escrows.
  • Act as liaison with attorneys during the foreclosure process.
  • Prepare borrower payoff statements.
  • Prepare borrower payment histories for both internal and external parties.
  • Act as main contact in the servicing of 203k Rehabilitation loans, including calculation and preparation of disbursements and recordkeeping of all servicing activity.
  • Stay abreast of trends in real estate and banking industries by reading industry journals, attending industry events and taking continuing education classes.
  • Assist in year-end tax compliance in the preparation of borrower forms 1098.

Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • College degree or two years customer service or lending experience required. 
  • Minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in mortgage servicing required. 
  • Supervisory experience preferred. 
  • Proven oral and written communication skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with borrowers.
  • Strong active listening, speaking and writing skills to understand customers' questions and ability to respond in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Strong ability to multi task, in a fast paced working environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills required.
  • Proven ability to interface with all levels of management necessary.
  • Customer-service orientation
  • Ability to work independently and proactively with minimum supervision, and must be extremely detail-oriented.
  • Working knowledge of mortgage origination software.
  • Working knowledge of FHA Connection software.
  • Proficiency utilizing automated sub-servicing systems; preferably BSI, Fiserv, Docunym. Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of accounting software applications.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Ability to research and collect data from a wide variety of sources.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Good mathematical skills.
