Our client is seeking an experienced Government Insuring Specialist to join their growing team. This individual will need to be highly motivated and have a strong attention to detail during the loan review process. The Government Insuring Specialist is primarily responsible for obtaining and reviewing all documentation on government insured loans, while also identifying areas of improvement within the government loan process.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Sort and stack files per FHA, VA, and USDA (herein "Agencies") requirements, and coordinate with appropriate internal departments to obtain any missing documentation;
Perform pre-endorsement review of files to be insured, including entering and validating loan information in Encompass and Agency insuring systems;
Manage data entry process for applicable Agency websites, including FHA Connection, the VA Portal, and the USDA Portal;
Administer payment process for remitting UFMIP, VA funding fee, and USDA fee within required time frames;
Audit FHA, VA, and USDA packages as needed, and prepare physical Case Binders for any loans selected for full audit by FHA/VA;
Ensure all files are delivered and endorsed within established deadlines;
Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of Agency guidelines for insuring;
Maintain and notate any defects related to insuring and escalate to senior management as appropriate;
Complete other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent required;
At least 1 year of hands-on experience with insuring FHA, VA, and USDA mortgage loans required;
Prior Encompass experience, preferred;
Must have exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
Must be dependable with meeting deadlines and managing time;
Have an ability to think analytically;
Have an ability to work independently on multiple files simultaneously;
Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
