On-Site Mortgage Sales Director
Direct oversight of Mortgage Department with responsibility to manage others and manage a residential loan portfolio.
Must understand all aspects of the mortgage lending process and be a resource. Must possess a working knowledge of
mortgage loan processing, underwriting, and originating loans to be sold to the secondary market. Builds relationships with
realtors, builders, CPAs, attorneys and the community to help facilitate new consumer mortgage lending activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages other staff within the Department and is a resource
Solicits and originates; responsible for making business development calls as needed
Ensure all mortgage clients receive prompt service
Develops and markets new mortgage loan programs
Assist mortgage clients with applying for a loan, answering applicable questions, and guiding them through the
process as needed
Qualifies potential mortgage loan candidates according to compliance requirements
Follows procedures and uses expert judgment to qualify clients when making loan decisions
Cross-sells bank deposit products and services to existing and potential mortgage customers
Underwriting and loan processing related duties as needed
Assists in facilitating mortgage loan closings
Participates in marketing strategy for mortgage loan originations
Expert in regulatory, legislative and technological changes that affect mortgage lending
Manages residential loan portfolio and processing loan renewals prior to maturity
Participates in market deposit generation and interacts with RM’s and Universal Bankers
Promotes the bank's image in the community through participation in business, social and civic group activities;
responsible for building positive relations within the community including realtors, builders, CPAs, attorneys and
individuals
Maintains a thorough audit trail and accurate records, requires attention to detail
Responsible for ensuring proper procedures are followed when closing loans to be sold to the secondary market
Officer responsibilities which include rotating on a branch officer schedule to open, close and work on Saturday rotation
Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree and/or equivalent experience and/or transferable experience in banking, finance or accounting.
Expertise with mortgage banking or real estate lending and compliance.
Ability to proactively manage others, be self-motivated, and work independently.
Federal or State NMLS
Previous work experience should support ability to drive the mortgage process and indicate sufficient
knowledge is present with regard to the technical aspects of the position. Excellent communications skills; verbal and
written.
