Position: Underwriter (Private Money Lending)

Compensation: $90,000–$100,000 base salary
Overview
This remote Underwriter role supports private money lending focused on investor, non-owner-occupied properties. You will underwrite construction, DSCR, fix-and-flip, and bridge loans, evaluating borrower strength and collateral risk while documenting clear credit decisions and communicating conditions in a fast-moving environment. Strong recent construction underwriting experience is the key requirement for this hire.
Responsibilities
• Underwrite construction loans with a strong focus on recent construction underwriting experience
• Underwrite DSCR loans, evaluating property cash flow and investor risk
• Underwrite fix-and-flip and bridge loans for investor, non-owner-occupied transactions
• Analyze borrower credit, liquidity/reserves, and investor experience/track record
• Review collateral, project scope, and supporting documentation to ensure the file is complete for decisions
• Document underwriting decisions clearly and issue conditions that are specific and actionable
• Partner with processing/closing and other internal teams to keep files moving and resolve issues quickly
• Escalate risk concerns, exceptions, and complex scenarios as appropriate
Qualifications
2+ Years recent Underwriting experience in the following:
• ground up construction underwriting experience
• DSCR underwriting experience
•Fix-and-flip and bridge underwriting experience
• Investor non-owner-occupied underwriting experience
• Experience working with a Private Money lender
