Temporary In Office- Residential Loan Administrator
Location:  Cos Cob, CT
Pay: $24 per hour plus overtime pay
Assignment Length: At least 5 weeks- possibility to go permanent

Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

The Residential Loan Administrator (Temporary) will provide administrative and operational support to the bank’s Residential Lending Department. This role is ideal for someone who has familiarity with the mortgage industry and can manage detailed documentation, customer communication, and third-party coordination in a fast-paced environment. The position supports loan officers, processors, and underwriters by ensuring files are complete, organized, and compliant with internal and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
Loan File Management
· Set up new residential loan files in accordance with bank procedures.
· Scan, copy, label, and organize documents within the bank’s electronic filing system.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date digital loan files throughout the loan process.
· Prepare cover sheets, checklists, and file summaries as needed.
Document Preparation & Templates
· Use established templates to prepare standard customer documents and correspondence.
· Generate routine disclosures, letters, and forms for customer signatures.
· Ensure all documents are complete, accurate, and properly formatted.
Customer & Internal Communication
· Answer incoming calls and emails from customers, attorneys, and internal staff.
· Provide status updates, request missing information, and route inquiries to the appropriate team members.
· Maintain a professional, courteous, and service-oriented approach in all interactions.
Third-Party Coordination
· Order and track third-party reports such as verifications, insurance documents, payoffs, and other required items.
· Follow up with customers, attorneys, appraisers, and other external partners to ensure timely receipt of documentation.
· Monitor outstanding items and escalate delays when necessary.
Administrative & Operational Support
· Assist loan processors and loan officers with routine administrative tasks.
· Update spreadsheets, logs, and tracking tools using Excel.
· Upload and manage documents within the bank’s shared file platform.
· Support compliance and audit readiness by ensuring documentation is complete and properly stored.

Qualifications

Required
· Prior experience in banking, mortgage, or financial services required.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with accuracy.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and shared file platforms (e.g., ShareFile, OneDrive, or similar).
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Preferred
· Familiarity with residential mortgage terminology and documentation.
· Experience working with loan origination systems (LOS) or document management systems.
· Customer service experience in a professional environment.
Work Environment
· Full-time temporary position within the Residential Lending Department of a community bank.
· Requires the ability to work independently, follow established procedures, and support a collaborative team environment.
