Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Servicer to manage a broad range of residential mortgage servicing functions. This is a fully remote position working Eastern Standard Time hours. The successful candidate must have at least five years of mortgage servicing experience, although ten or more years is strongly preferred. Candidates must have experience servicing Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA loans, along with previous supervisory or management responsibility. This position requires direct experience across all areas of performing and default servicing listed below.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day servicing of residential mortgage loans.
- Process and accurately apply borrower payments, payoffs, fees, adjustments, and other account transactions.
- Manage escrow accounts, including tax and insurance disbursements, escrow analyses, shortages, surpluses, and borrower notifications.
- Complete investor reporting, remitting, reconciliation, and related servicing requirements.
- Service Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA loans in accordance with applicable agency and investor guidelines.
- Manage delinquent loans and perform default servicing activities.
- Work directly with borrowers on loss mitigation options, including repayment plans, forbearances, loan modifications, partial claims, short sales, and other available resolutions.
- Manage bankruptcy accounts, including payment application, account monitoring, proof-of-claim coordination, and communication with attorneys.
- Coordinate foreclosure activities and timelines with attorneys, investors, insurers, trustees, and other third-party vendors.
- Respond to borrower questions, complaints, escalations, and servicing-related requests.
- Provide accurate and professional customer service throughout the servicing process.
- Monitor third-party vendors and ensure services are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with service-level expectations.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state servicing regulations, agency guidelines, investor requirements, and internal policies.
- Review servicing reports, exception reports, account reconciliations, and operational data to identify and resolve issues.
- Assist with servicing audits, quality-control reviews, complaints, examinations, and corrective-action plans.
- Provide guidance, oversight, or supervision to servicing team members as required.
- Help develop and maintain servicing procedures, workflows, controls, and departmental best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of residential mortgage servicing experience required.
- Ten or more years of mortgage servicing experience strongly preferred.
- Previous supervisory, team lead, or management responsibility required.
- Direct experience servicing all of the following loan types:
- Fannie Mae
- Freddie Mac
- FHA
- VA
- Direct experience in all of the following areas:
- Payment processing and payment application
- Escrow administration
- Investor reporting and remitting
- Default servicing
- Loss mitigation
- Bankruptcy

- Customer service and borrower escalations
- Vendor oversight
- Mortgage servicing compliance
- Strong knowledge of agency guidelines, investor requirements, and mortgage servicing regulations.
- Ability to independently manage a broad servicing workload in a fully remote environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work Eastern Standard Time business hours.
- Proficiency with mortgage servicing systems, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.
