Overview

A bank is hiring an experienced Mortgage Funder to support its Residential Mortgage Lending Unit in Brooklyn.

This position will prepare closing disclosures and mortgage loan documents, review executed closing packages prior to funding, confirm loan conditions have been satisfied, validate fees and funding figures, coordinate closing activity with attorneys and title professionals, and complete post-closing file reviews.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mortgage closing disclosures and loan documents
• Review closing documents for completeness and accuracy
• Confirm approval and appraisal conditions have been cleared
• Verify required fees and funding figures
• Perform pre-funding reviews of executed loan documents
• Review signed documents and conditions before loan disbursement
• Coordinate closing and funding activity with internal staff, mortgage brokers, attorneys, and title/escrow agents
• Communicate funding status to appropriate parties
• Prepare funding schedules
• Audit closed loan files
• Perform post-closing activities and maintain compliance records
• Ensure loans follow bank guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Comply with applicable regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act requirements

Qualifications

• 2+ years of mortgage funding, closing, or related mortgage operations experience
• Experience preparing closing disclosures and mortgage loan documents
• Experience performing pre-funding reviews of executed loan documents
• Strong ability to review loan files for completeness and accuracy
• Experience verifying loan conditions, fees, and funding figures
• Experience coordinating with attorneys, title/escrow agents, mortgage brokers, and internal lending staff
• Post-closing file review or audit experience
• Knowledge of mortgage lending policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Encompass experience
• Ability to work in-office in Brooklyn, NY
