Job Description

A Closing Representative is responsible for the accurate and complete preparation of loan closing documentation and timely funding for residential mortgage loans. The closer works closely with Attorneys and Title Companies to finalize review and approve the Closing Disclosure and ensure all legal documentation is in compliance with State and Federal laws, Investor guidelines and Bank policy in order to perfect a first lien position.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepares loan closing documents for multi-state loans within Loan Origination System (Encompass) to be sent to settlement agents and attorneys. Ensures all legal documentation is in compliance with State and Federal laws, Investor requirements and Bank policy in order to perfect a first lien position. Researches and follows up with the Settlement Agents for any outstanding conditions to produce the final Closing Disclosure and closing package prior to settlement. Coordinate delivery of closing packages with settlement agents in a timely manner;
  • Inputs all necessary information into Loan Origination System to generate closing documents, including but not limited to the Mortgage, Note, Notice of Right to Cancel and Borrower’s Closing Disclosure. Utilizes Mavent to ensure compliance, reviews and addresses any warnings or fails on the Mavent report. Verifies that the fees are not exceeding/violating the federal tolerance standards;
  • Reviews post closing packages. Ensures all documents are present, accurate and signed. Follows up with attorneys, borrowers, title companies when needed. Submits all necessary documents to appropriate departments within the Bank. Reviews new loan worksheets and makes any necessary corrections. Ensures the closed loan package is scanned in accordance with the department procedures and is placed in the efolder. Ensures the collateral loan file is properly maintained in the designated storage cabinets awaiting the recorded mortgage and final title policy;
  • Ensures all FASB information (fees received) is correct and entered into the Loan Origination System. Prepares loan cost worksheets and FASB fee summary for all closings for the Accounting Department;
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of state and federal laws regulating mortgage lending, investor requirements and Bank's policies and procedures;
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned. This will include but is not limited to serving as back-up for any staff members in the department as determined by management.
Job Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required;
  • Two to three years’ experience in closing residential mortgage loans;
  • Understanding of Conventional and TILA RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID) guidelines;
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel;
  • Ability to work at a fast paced fluid environment;
