Remote Paralegal - Certification or Degree Required

Laguana Hills, CA
seeking an experienced paralegal to perform a variety of tasks with an emphasis on (1) intake and processing of consumer complaints and (2) review of title-related documents in connection with residential mortgage transactions. Candidate must have experience working with in-house counsel of a mortgage lender.  The candidate will have wide- ranging knowledge of the loan origination and closing processes.
Under the direct supervision of In-House Counsel, the Paralegal is responsible for, but not limited to, the following job responsibilities:
  • Track intake of consumer complaints to ensure timely responses. 
  • Investigate escalated complaints and draft responses for legal and compliance review.
  • Monitor state and federal law for changes affecting mortgage lenders
  • Review Borrower’s Living Trust Agreements
  • Review Powers of Attorney
  • Review complex title histories, including resolution of decedent’s estates
  • Review Subordination Agreements
  • Manage and maintain consumer complaint log
  • Manage and maintain litigation log
  • Complete all Company mandatory trainings within the required timelines.
  • Associate’s Degree or Certificate in Paralegal Studies
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Paralegal is required
  • Residential mortgage experience required
  • In-house experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of positive impact in all positions held
  • Ability to respond effectively and quickly to clients' needs and issues
  • Ability and desire to work within a team environment
  • Highly professional with superior verbal and written communication skills
